AN extra consultation event is being held for Dunstable and Totternhoe neighbours, so that they can check out a proposed masterplan to protect and improve some countryside areas.
Central Beds Council had already organised a consultation session at Totternhoe Memorial Hall, in Castle Hill Road, on January 14, from 10am to 3pm.
Now the team has announced a further event, at Dunstable Library on Saturday, January 21, from 10am to 2pm.
The proposed masterplan includes areas of old chalk workings, Maiden Bower Scheduled Ancient Monument, Totternhoe Knolls and the medieval motte and bailey ruins of Totternhoe Castle. It also includes the disused railway area which is now part of a Sustrans national cycle route.
At an earlier consultation event, more than 40 people turned up to see the plans at the Chilterns Gateway Centre, on Dunstable Downs.
Councillor Brian Spurr, executive member for sustainable communities services, said: “I’m thrilled that so many people have taken the time to look at our plans for this important piece of our countryside.
“We want to make sure that our plans for the area are as attractive to as many people as possible - and we need everyone to have their say.”
People can also check out and comment on the plans at www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/consultations.
