A ONE-DAY event at a Dunstable store will invite shoppers to buy an extra food item to be donated to a good cause this Christmas.
On Saturday, customers at Sainsbury’s, in Luton Road, can donate food for charities and community projects.
The FareShare charity will distribute the donations from the national drive, which involves more than 600 Sainsbury’s stores.
FareShare redistributes quality surplus food from the food industry to people in need.
Sainsbury’s has worked with FareShare since 1994.
But this is the first time that customers nationwide have been asked to take part.
