DAILY life in Ancient Greece was played out to students at Streetfield Middle School when they were visited by historical re-enactors.
Youngsters were transported back more than 2,000 years by the Past Alive team to mark the Dunstable school’s annual Ancient Greece Day.
Pupils got a flavour of the times with some food tasting and learned the importance of a strong handmade shield for battles.
The most popular part of the day was the Past Alive presentation showing articles used in daily life in Ancient Greece. Each implement was linked to its modern counterpart, which led to a few surprises. The tools and weapons were all demonstrated along with the clothing of the time.
Some students were able to help out with the demonstrations and those who had bought their own Greek costumes got to dress up during the afternoon.
