Help a good cause and earn points which could bring community prizes by donating furniture and other household items to Dunstable’s Preen CIC team.
The community interest company, which will soon open a big new “reuse centre” on the ex-ERG site, is running collection days as part of its Community Challenge.
That challenge will give points and prizes to towns and parishes for items donated to or bought from the team.
Councils earn bonus points by helping to publicise the initiative.
Reusable items are collected by Preen free of charge and the project helps Central Beds people in need.
Items must be clean, safe and fit for reuse. There is a particular need for furniture, fridges, freezers, and electric cookers, small electrical appliances, including televisions, DVD, CD and video players, and cooling fans.
Collection days include: Dunstable, Wednesday, September 5; Hockliffe, Tuesday, October 2; Houghton Regis, Fridays on August 24, Sept 28, October 26; Toddington, Friday, October 19.
