DESIGNS for works of art to feature along the Dunstable and Houghton Regis stretch of the guided busway have been revealed.
Pete Moorhouse, an artist who specialises in outdoor steel sculptures, was commissioned to come up with designs inspired by the towns’ recent history.
There are currently 22 designs which will be narrowed down to four through a public vote.
They went on show at Houghton Regis Library and Dunstable Library yesterday (Wednesday).
Pete set up workshops with students at schools including Kings Houghton Middle School and St George’s School, and worked on themes including Dunstable’s market town status, local manufacturing, transport and the towns’ diverse communities.
Also featured is a duck, in tribute to the well-known orange duck sticker on the old railway bridge over Church Street.
Mr Moorhouse said choosing their favourite designs would give the public a “sense of ownership”.
