CELEBRITY chef Jean Christophe Novelli declared the new Holiday Inn Express in Dunstable open at a glamorous launch party.

Music, food and drink were the order of the night as the hotel giant celebrated its move to Dunstable or, as Jean joked, “Dunstable-on-Sea”.

Jean Christophe, 51, told staff in his speech at the celebration: “I think you’re going to have so much success because people are waiting for this kind of establishment.”

Jean Christophe, who has run a cookery school near Luton since 2005, told the Gazette: “It can only attract a lot of people. This is going to grow, it’s going to be massive. It’s phenomenal, you can’t find prices like this.

“It’s a good team, a good management. I believe in them, I’m very happy.”

General manager Louise Thrussell said: “This hotel has brought jobs to the area.”

The London Road hotel boasts 120 rooms, with affordable prices that include free parking, wi-fi and breakfast as standard.
