FORMER Hatters winger Charlie Henry felt it was an easy option not to offer him a new deal at the club, writes Mike Simmonds.
The 26-year-old left Town last week as he was out of contract in the summer, ending an injury-ridden year and a half at the club where he made just six first team appearances.
Speaking exclusively to the Luton News, he said: “Paul Buckle told me that he’s been told by people above him that he’s got to shorten his squad down. He’s got 31 pros and they had to make a decision.
“I don’t know if my face didn’t fit, but I was out of contract and haven’t played a lot of games this year, so I could have been an easy target.
“I enjoyed my time though and just wanted to say thanks to the fans who supported me.
“It was a bit gutting I could never pay them back in any way and show them what I can do.”
