STRIKER Craig McAllister is hoping to make the most of his opportunity after finally seeing his move to Luton Town come off last week, writes Mike Simmonds.
The 31-year-old was on manager Gary Brabin’s radar in the summer after his release by the Red Devils during the summer, but opted to join Newport County instead.
He endured a frustrating time in Wales, failing to find the net in 26 appearances as County were fighting a relegation battle, so jumped at the chance to spearhead Town’s promotion push.
McAllister said: “Things didn’t quite work out, I got the opportunity to come here and grabbed it with both hands.
“It was a great option that came up and I was more than happy to take it.
“He (Brabin) made an interest and I made my mind up when they showed they were interested.”
