POLICE have closed down a cannabis factory that had been set up in the loft of a bungalow in Totternhoe.

On Tuesday officers raided the property in Lancotbury Close following an intelligence operation that suggested cannabis was being cultivated at the location.

Officers discovered around 80 fully grown plants in the property as well as hydroponic equipment which was connected to an electricity box which had been tampered with. Officers also found an instruction DVD and manual on how to grow the drug.

Sergeant Chris Pollard of the Leighton Buzzard local policing team, said: “Bedfordshire Police is committed to the fight against drugs and will do all that we can to prosecute those involved in producing and selling them across the county.

“I would urge anyone who has any information about this discovery, or any other drug related offences, to come forward.”

Two people were arrested and have been released on police bail.
