TOWN top scorer Amari Morgan-Smith has suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury and won’t play a part in Sunday’s New Year’s Day return clash at Kettering Town, writes Mark Wood.
The 22-year-old striker has netted nine times this season, but hasn’t played since midway through last month when he sustained the injury in the 1-0 FA Cup victory over Northampton Town.
Boss Gary Brabin admitted: “Amari’s had a little setback. He joined in the group with training but had a little setback.
“How far back that’s knocked him we don’t know but it’s disappointing he’s had a little setback on the injury front so we will have to get a little bit of clarity on that as well.”
However, James Dance is likely to be fit after missing out on Monday’s 5-0 thrashing of Kettering with a glute injury.
