PHONE problems in Houghton Regis this week were caused by damage to underground cables.
Phone lines in Blackburn Road were among those affected.
A BT spokesman said: “We have suffered from third party damage to underground cables which are affecting some services at the moment.
“Engineers are on site assessing the damage and impact and repairs that will be needed to restore services.”
He said when the network is damaged, BT’s priority is to restore services as quickly as possible.
