A CAR crash near Studham has left a man badly hurt, with a suspected fractured skull.

The Vauxhall Corsa driver is receiving specialist treatment at St Mary’s Hospital, London.

His car left the road and ended up on a grass verge as he travelled along the A4146 towards Hemel Hempstead, at about 7.45am on Saturday, December 17.

Another accident followed, when a Mazda2 was in collision with a black estate car, heading for Leighton Buzzard, which had stopped after the Corsa crashed.

Both the Mazda2 and the estate car were damaged. Police say the driver of the estate car failed to provide details and left the scene.

They urgently need to find the estate car driver, described as a black woman wearing a Russian-style winter hat, as they hope she can help establish how the Corsa crashed.

PC Craig Baker said: “I do not believe that she was involved with the first incident, but I do think that she would have seen what happened and it is vital that we establish what caused this crash.”

Call PC Baker on 01234 842439, ring the non-emergency number 101, or text 07786 200011. Contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
