BETTER bus links are needed for Whipsnade Zoo visitors, says South West Beds MP Andrew Selous.
The MP was speaking in a House of Commons debate on how zoos contribute to the economy.
He said later: “It is excellent news for our local economy that Whipsnade had the highest number of visitors this year for the last 37 years.” The MP said the zoo felt that with better public transport, even more visitors could be attracted.
He added: “I hope that all our local bus companies will examine the business opportunities that the zoo offers for them. Better bus links would also cut down congestion in Whipsnade, Kensworth and across the Downs from Dunstable.”
