HAWTHORN Park Lower School welcomed children from an outreach centre to join them to discuss healthy eating.
Sainsburys Dunstable organised the visit during which pupils from the Houghton Regis school and children from the Jigsaw Centre enjoyed making fruit kebabs.
The Jigsaw Centre offers guidance to pupils that have been permanently excluded from schools, ensuring they feel ready to reconnect and refocus on moving on successfully.
As well as making the kebabs, the children took part in a discussion about the importance of eating five pieces of fruit and vegetables a day.
The pupils at the outreach centre have often been excluded for behavioural problems, but Elaine Wilson from Sainsburys Dunstable was impressed by how well the visit went.
She said: “the children were really well behaved. It was really good for them.
“It was nice to see the children working together from the two different schools.
“It was absolutely fantastic and completely opened my eyes to the things we can achieve when working with children in the area.”
