THE culture vultures at Downside Lower School celebrated the festive season in as many ways as possible during their special ‘Christmas Around The World’ extravaganza.
The four-to-nine-year-olds depicted how Christmas is celebrated in Spain, Africa, Hawaii, China, India and the American wild west during their three performances earlier this month.
About half way through the show, all 95 pupils at the school were on stage at the same time.
Pupils, parents and every single member of staff were involved in the production, with international parents even offering advice on traditional dances and costumes.
Headteacher Marilyn Ravenor was overjoyed with the way her first Christmas show at the school went.
She said: “I truly believe that in order to make something truly successful, everybody must feel involved, and everybody really was involved.
“Everyone had something to do and everyone had a special part to play.
“The children had loads of fun delivering the Christmas messages of peace and goodwill for everyone.
“It went down an absolute storm - simply fabulous.”
