THERE are only a few days left to vote for your favourite shops and businesses in Dunstable.

Entries are piling up for the Gazette’s Shop Local customer service awards, in partnership with Dunstable Town Council, which offer you a chance to shout about the town’s top spot for service with a smile.

And you have until Friday, February 25 to put forward your nominations for shops and businesses – and individual members of staff.

Latest nominees for the awards include Spice Fusion, Priory House Tea Rooms, Flurry’s Snack Bar and Azzurri Italian Restaurant.

Customers from Flurry’s Snack Bar in High Street South rave about the staff’s attention to detail and thoughtfulness, with one happy visitor describing the eaterie as “the kindest and most respectful place I have ever been”.

Reader Jacqui Dilley said she chose the food spot because “they are always lovely to everyone – even if the customer is difficult!” She added: “It doesn’t matter how you feel when you go in. I guarantee you will leave with a smile on your face.”

Owner and manager Iain Lay-Flurrie said of the nomination: “I’m over the moon. All the hard work we’ve put in over the last five years has paid off.”

The team at Spice Fusion were thrilled with their vote. Owner Biju Miah said: “It’s excellent. It is important to have the recognition from our customers because my business is run on word of mouth. If people feel I’ve treated them good they will come back.”

Azzurri Italian Restaurant and Priory House Tea Room were also delighted to be shortlisted. Assistant manager at Priory House, Mick O’Sullivan, said: “I think it is brilliant. Being situated where we are in High Street South not a lot of people come to this end of town so to be recognised is good publicity.”

Do you have a favourite shop in Dunstable that deserves a bit of recognition? Here is your chance to shine the spotlight on the town’s rising retail stars.

The winning business will receive a full colour, quarter page advert in the Dunstable Gazette, Luton News and Herald & Post, worth £992.

And the victorious individual employee will be given two tickets to see Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Grove Theatre in May as a prize.

Everyone who votes will be entered into a prize draw, where you could also win two tickets to see Joseph.

> To vote, fill in the form on this page and return to us by post, email editorial@lutonnews.co.uk or visit our website www.dunstabletoday.co.uk

The competition closes on Friday, February 25, at 12noon.
