Hatters boss Paul Buckle was delighted that striker Jon Shaw was back on the scoresheet during the 2-0 win at Cambridge United on Saturday, writes Mike Simmonds.
Shaw, who netted 35 times for Gateshead last season, has been surprisingly off colour in front of goal since moving to Kenilworth Road.
He showed signs of being back to his predatory best though, turning in from close range after Andre Gray’s lung-busting run from the halfway line.
Buckle said: “I believe in Jon Shaw massively, I believe in all my strikers and the great thing about Shaw is when he’s not scoring a goal, he’s not giving the back four a minutes peace.”
