Three Dunstable schools and Eaton Bray Academy have won approval to change pupil age-ranges.
Hadrian Academy, St Christopher’s Academy and Eaton Bray Academy can expand their age ranges to become primary schools, for pupils aged four to 11, from September 2013.
Barnfield Vale Academy, currently taking children aged 10 to 13, also has approval to become a primary school for pupils aged four to 11.
South West Beds MP Andrew Selous said the news “removes uncertainty”. He is working with other schools ahead of Queensbury Academy’s expected consultation on possibly becoming a secondary school, for pupils aged 11 to 18.
