A driver has been arrested after an alleged hit and run incident close to Dunstable College this morning.
Police and paramedics were called to Kingsway, close to the college’s main campus, shortly before 9am after a Vauxhall Astra was in collision with a pedestrian.
The driver failed to stop but police found the car abandoned in nearby Dunstable Leisure Centre car park a short while later. A search of the area found the driver who was arrested by officers.
Fortunately, the pedestrian was not seriously injured in the incident but was taken to the Luton & Dunstable Hospital for treatment. It is unknown whether the injured person was a student at the college.
