Family fun drew the crowds to Priory Gardens for this year’s Dunstable Town Fayre.
Dunstable mayor Councillor Patricia Staples officially opened the free event in the High Street South gardens.
This year’s attractions included a craft fair, pony rides, a petting zoo, a reptile tent, a dog show, Punch and Judy, and food competitions.
The fayre was run by Dunstable Town Council.
Helen Walker-Sygrove, Priory House manager, said: “The town fayre went really well and I was delighted with the number of people who came and stayed all day visiting the different areas.
“The weather was very kind so we had lots of families taking advantage of the weather and having picnics on the lawn while the children played. The kids zone and animal area were busy all day with the reptile tent being particularly popular.
“The craft fayre also did very well and the artisans were pleased with the amount of people both viewing and buying.”
Food competition winners included: Victoria sponge, Andrea Letus; cake decorating, Theresa Marshall, who made a ‘pig’ cake; jam, Anna Dearlove.
> The tea-tasting event was postponed but there are still plans to blend a special Dunstable tea.
