A scheme launched in Bedfordshire aims to improve the quality of services in GP practices – saving millions of pounds that will be reinvested in services.
The scheme will invest up to £1.5million in practices to improve patient experience and offer alternatives to hospital care when appropriate.
Dunstable GP Dr Paul Hassan, who chairs Beds Clinical Commissioning Group, which is introducing the scheme next year, said: “It will invest in GP practices that think and work innovatively to offer safe, high-quality alternatives to hospital care when a patient’s needs are less acute.”
