SMALL business owners could be losing out on thousands of pounds worth of tax credits.
That’s the view of Dave Masterson who runs TaxAssist Accountants in High Street North, Dunstable and Market Square, Leighton Buzzard.
Mr Masterson said: “It has become increasingly apparent to me that Leighton Buzzard and Dunstable small business owners are not getting the tax credits they’re due. If they have children aged 19 or under or are sole traders who have incorporated their business, or made a loss, they could be missing out.
“Tax credits can also apply in many other cases, such as where a director’s husband or wife works in the business and where dividends are paid through director’s loans, for example, and with regards to pension contributions, Gift Aid payments and child care. It is vital local business owners receive what they’re entitled to.”
