WHIPSNADE Zoo returned to the nation’s television screens at the weekend with the new series of The Zoo on ITV1.
In the first episode, viewers saw staff at Whipsnade and their counterparts in London deal with everything from breeding endangered frogs to working with a diva penguin.

Zoo director David Field said the programmes showed “the passion, commitment and dedication” of zoo staff.
