CENTRAL Beds Council officials have agreed to meet with business owners in Dunstable today to address the problems caused by the ‘streetscape’ road improvements.
For the last few weeks, a number of shopkeepers in and around Court Drive have complained that they face bankruptcy due to the disturbance caused by roadworks that are part of the Luton Dunstable Guided Busway project.
They say that parking restrictions and traffic congestions around their shops and takeaways are having a drastic effect on footfall.
Councillor Carole Hegley will be at the private meeting, which will be held at Grove House in High Street North, at 4.15pm.
One business owner, Zakariah Quddos, said: “They say that the roadworks will do the town good. But I say please, please let me survive long enough to see this good.”
