PHYSICAL activity can help prevent long term health problems, according to Macmillan Cancer Support.
The charity has launched The Cancer and Physical Activity Pilot in conjunction with the Luton & Dunstable NHS Trust and Active Luton.
The project encourages people living with cancer to be active during and after treatment.
Each patient on the scheme has a health assessment and different activities are recommended, such as walking or taking part in yoga, zumba or swimming.
This can reduce the impact of side effects like fatigue, muscle-wasting, depression and anxiety.
