SANDWICH shop owner Subway wantd to double the number of stores it has in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire in the next five years.

The company is keen to open stores across the region and is particularly keen to find new franchisees in Luton and Bedford. There are currently 36 Subway stores across the three counties and there are plans in place to increase this to 72.

It could create 350 jobs for local people.

Brand regional development agent Stacey Moore said: “We are looking for hard working, self motivated and passionate individuals. When you open a franchise with us, you know that you are buying in-to a company with a proven business model, with over 36,000 stores operating worldwide, and that you will get all the support that goes with this.”

The firm’s development agents are responsible for growing the franchise in-line with consumer demand and heading up teams that offer support to franchisees on aspects such as site selection, leasing, purchasing and marketing.
