EDLESBOROUGH School celebrated the Olympics with their own Olympic Opening Ceremony on the school field. The ceremony started with all 220 children parading around the school field with their class flag, followed by singing the National Anthem.
Families and friends enjoyed a varied programme of song and dance, starting with KS1 releasing 90 red white and blue balloons and finishing with the whole school making the Olympic Rings to the music of Chariots of Fire.
Head teacher, Jane Foster, said: “Despite the grey clouds and occasional rain, parents thoroughly enjoyed the event. We wanted to celebrate the Olympics in a way that the children would always remember and we were very proud of what they achieved today.”
