KENILWORTH Road already holds a special place in striker Jon Shaw’s heart, writes Mike Simmonds.
For it was there on May 1, 2004, that the striker, then a 21-year-old at the club he supports Sheffield Wednesday, netted his first senior goal.
On his 25th appearance for the Owls, he headed past Dean Brill to put Wednesday 1-0 up on 22 minutes, in a match that Luton went on to win 3-2.
Reminiscing about the goal, Shaw said: “We came down to Luton where I scored to put us 1-0 up, so it was a brilliant occasion for myself.”
