CELEBRATIONS for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee are still going strong in the Dunstable area.
One of the latest events was a jubilee day at Westfield Nursery School on June 13. Parties were held in the morning and afternoon and the children dressed up as princes and princesses, and in red, white and blue.
Ashton Middle School Band visited them in the afternoon to provide musical entertainment.

> Neighbours in Downs Road, Dunstable, have sent us a picture of their jubilee street party.
They joined forces to provide barbecues and a mountain of food.
There was even a guest appearance by ‘Hamlet the Piggy Sensation’, of Facebook fame.
> Pathways staff and students at Central Bedfordshire College had a royal guest at their jubilee “street party”.
Queen Elizabeth II was unable to make the celebrations – but the “Queen of Central Bedfordshire College”, Wendy Cook, pictured right, was only too happy to attend.
The £2 entry fee covered food and drink and the hire of old-fashioned games, equipment and props.
> Streetfield Middle School pupils combined their annual fundraising fun run with the school’s jubilee celebrations. During the run, they wore red, white and blue and a mask of a member of the Royal Family, so the school field was a sea of HRHs.
Then they had a picnic outside, and sang the national anthem with great gusto. The day ended with a fireworks display as the strains of Jerusalem echoed around the school.
Alex Robinson, deputy head, said: “It was an amazing sight, seeing that many Williams, Kates, Philips, Camillas, Charles and Queens running around the school field. The children found it an exciting afternoon!”
