THE ‘streetscape’ work to enhance the Court Drive area of Dunstable and create a space that can be shared by motorists, pedestrians and cyclists alike will begin next week.
Work will begin on Monday (June 25), and an integral part of the Luton Dunstable Busway will eventually run through the area.
Pedestrian footways will be widened and extended, street clutter such as barriers and bollards will be removed, bus lay-bys are being improved and the whole area is being landscaped.
Central Beds councillor Nigel Young said: “We want to create an inviting and safe space that people like being in and which benefits businesses on and around it. It is part of a bigger vision for Dunstable, designed to improve employment, housing, transport and shopping experiences and we’re confident that the whole community will benefit from these improvements.”
