THE wedding ring belonging to his late wife was among items stolen during a burglary at a man’s home in Dunstable.

A thief entered through the back of the property in Lowther Road, near Ardley Hill Academy, between 2.35pm and 3.35pm on Monday, June 11 while the occupant was out.

The ring and other pieces of irreplaceable jewellery taken belonged to his wife, who died 10 years ago.

Another ring was distinctive gold with a gold sunflower on it.

Others included an engagement ring, an eternity ring and a white gold necklace with a gold ingot pendant containing Egyptian symbols.

Also stolen was a black leather Bagley wallet containing bank cards and cash.

PC Jenny Buckley, investigating, said: “There is, of course, monetary value to the goods taken but the sentimental value that these items hold to the victim are absolutely priceless and we want to reunite him with them as soon as possible.

Contact PC Buckley, in confidence, on the non-emergency number 101 or text information to 07786 200011.

Alternatively, contact independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.
