STUDENTS’ success was celebrated at the second All Saints Academy annual awards evening.
Academy sponsors and local dignitaries attended the evening to mark achievements in the last academic year.
Year 11 student Rachel Elmes was thrilled to scoop the Principal’s Award.
She said: “I was really shocked to receive the award but it’s great to know that both the principal and the teachers at our school always want to support and reward us for our work.”
Amber Plenty was awarded The Tom Waterworth Cup. The Year 12 student said: “I think a lot of students deserve this award, but I am very proud to have been awarded it for my involvement in lots of extra-curricular activities, including the dance, drama and gymnastic clubs.”
Jenni McCrea took the title for Best GCSE Results, Hannah Richards won the Best A-level Results and Aeilish Wynne took the prize for Commitment to Student Voice.
The Diocese of St Albans Award for Excellence Through Adversity went to Kerry Usher.
And the University of Bedfordshire Shield for Excellence in Academy Specialisms was awarded to Kira Solley.
Principal Tom Waterworth said: “At All Saints Academy we believe that we are writing history.
“We are working hard with our partners to transform community and student aspiration.”
