THANK you – that’s the message to dedicated volunteers for their help with Dunstable Town Council community projects.
The council team invited some of the volunteers for a taste of a Priory Pudding Night at Priory House, the heritage and tourism centre in High Street South.
They joined Councillor Liz Jones, chairman of the council’s community services committee, at the event on Thursday, June 7.
She said: “Without our volunteers’ continued hard work, it would be impossible to provide the services that we do and the activities for our residents.”
And she went on: “They play a vital role for us – from the Mayfield Centre to Grove Corner, to Priory House and the Older People’s Day Care – their input is of great value and we thank them for this.”
Other volunteers were invited to take afternoon tea with Dunstable mayor Councillor Pat Staples on Monday, June 11.
The council team says that these events were held “to say a big thank you” to volunteers for their dedication, determination and loyalty to individual community services projects.
Town councillors thanked all of the volunteers for their help and support.
The volunteers included Louise Wright, who helps out at the Mayfield Centre.
She said that she had a very enjoyable evening and it was nice to know her efforts were appreciated.
