THE Football League’s annual general meeting in Portugal is set to debate the return of artificial pitches.
Luton, who famously boasted an artificial pitch in the late 80s and early 90s, haven’t ruled out a potential return in the future.
Several League One and League Two teams are keen on the idea and the 72 clubs will debate the findings of a consultation period that drew 1,700 individual responses from clubs, fans and official bodies.
It could result in a formal vote in the future or the plan could be dropped altogether.
