WITH the news that Clinton Cards will stay open in Dunstable despite the company going into administration, the town centre received another boost in the form of a new business opening last week.

The good news comes as administrators Zolfo Coopers announced that Clinton Cards in the Quadrant will not be one of the locations closing down due to business restructuring.

Dunstable Furniture and Carpets in Ashton Square sells a range of cabinets, wardrobes, beds and mattresses as well as flooring such as carpet and laminate.

The shop stocks popular, in-demand Mexican ‘Corona’ furniture, as well as a value budget range – they also offer free delivery in the Dunstable area.

Manager Farah Haroon told the Gazette: “If I had somewhere bigger I would have to put prices up to compromise with the size of the shop.

“This shop is my baby.”

Last week Clinton Cards’ Pure Party store in Luton was one of 44 shops across the country to close down.

Last month the Peacocks group also went into administration, but the company’s locations in Dunstable stayed open.
