KENILWORTH Road could be set for big changes this summer with around 14 players out of contract as well as a number of management staff, writes Mark Wood.
Sunday’s play-off final defeat to York City is the second year in a row that Town have fallen at the final hurdle as assistant manager Alan Neilson admitted it could be more than just a cosmetic job in the summer.
On whether the squad needed tweaking or wholesale changes, he said: “I think it’s a bit of both. I think it’s 14 players that are out of contract.
“Some might move on, some might stay. We will look to bring new players in. I will be speaking to the manager and he wants a squad of 18 to 20 players and then you can use loan signings.
