A TEAM of cake specialists have proved they really do have the vital ingredients to keep their customers satisfied.
Now Dunstable mayor Councillor Claire Meakins-Jell has congratulated The Cake House on a double win in the town’s great Shop Local customer service awards.
The Cake House, in High Street South, attracted the most votes in the category for the best customer service from a local business.
And Hayley Pfeifer, who runs The Cake House, received the highest number of votes in the category for the best customer service from a local business employee.
Happy customers celebrated sterling service by sending in more than 250 contest entries for businesses and employees, nominating 41 individual businesses.
Dunstable Town Council and the Dunstable Gazette organised the awards.
The mayor said: “Congratulations to Hayley Pfeifer at The Cake House for winning both the businesses and individual employee accolades.
“This is a fantastic competition that provides an opportunity for local residents and town centre users to highlight one of the many positive aspects about Dunstable. We have many loyal visitors to our town centre who use businesses, shops, pubs and restaurants time and time again, encouraged to do so by excellent service and a very warm welcome.
“Thank you to all those people who took the time to vote and well done to all of those businesses and their staff who were nominated – keep up the good work!”
Hayley, 35, said: “I really appreciate the support that we have been given by all of our customers and the other local businesses. It means a lot to me!”
The Cake House will receive a full colour, quarter page advert in the Dunstable Gazette, Luton News and Herald&Post, courtesy of the Dunstable Gazette.
Hayley Pfeifer will also receive two tickets for the opening night of Avenue Q on July 23 from the Grove Theatre, in Dunstable, for winning the individual award.
A prize draw has taken place for voters, and one lucky member of the public has won tickets for Avenue Q from the Grove Theatre, as well as afternoon tea for two at Priory House and a voucher for use of the artificial grass pitch at Creasey Park Community Football Centre, both courtesy of Dunstable Town Council.
