WOBURN Abbey is hosting a wildlife and sporting fine art exhibition until Monday, May 28.
The exhibition ‘From Field to Easel’ opened yesterday (Saturday) and features the work of Richard J. Smith and Chris Christoforou.
Richard is best known for his worldwide fish paintings, although he is also a keen shot, countryman and deer stalker.
Chris is a naturalist, falconer and an expert in the world of big cats, having studied them on safaris in Africa and India; as well as rearing many big cats in Britain.
They both have a passion for conserving the natural world and this exhibition shows that passion.
The exhibition also displays their in-depth knowledge of their chosen field sports with various works of art on display to cater for many tastes and pockets.
The display was conceived after a chance meeting with the famous antiques dealer John Bly, who brought together the two old friends for a show of their accumulated recent art.
The exhibition is being held at The Howland Room, North Court at the Abbey every day between 10am and 5pm.
