DUNSTABLE’S very first beer festival went down so well that the town council want to make it an annual event.
The Priory Gardens festival was so successful that all ales sold out on Saturday night and the council had to inform people planning to attend on Sunday via Facebook and Twitter.
A total of 650 people attended the three-day event, proudly sipping from their souvenir glasses.
Revellers enjoyed 28 different ales such as Hopping Mad, Potton Brewery Frog Island and Concrete Cow as well as local ales from Chiltern Brewery and Tring Brewery.
Running alongside the festival on the Friday night was a cheese and wine tasting evening, and on the Saturday guests were treated to live performances from musical acts Teela, Nick Stephenson, Third Hour and band Donut.
Lisa Vincent, the council’s events officer, told the Gazette: “The entertainment went down an absolute storm.
“Going by how well the public responded to the beer festival, I think we can definitely look at turning this into a yearly thing.”
