STAFF at Central Beds College joined hundreds of thousands of public sector workers across the UK today (May 10) to strike over the Government’s planned pension changes.
The Union of Colleges and Universities members were supported by students.
The coalition government believes the current pension system is unfair as people are living longer lives, but unions say that their members are having to pay more and work longer for lower pensions.
It is estimated that over 250,000 staff are involved in the 24-hour strike.
