IT’S Show Time folks as theatre land arrives in Dunstable.
If you like the music from shows such as The Sound Of Music, Joseph, Jesus Christ Superstar, Mack And Mable and Grease, then Mill Vale Middle School in Wilbury Drive is the place to be.
On Friday and Saturday, May 11-12, the Houghton Regis Vincentian Players are putting on a musical extravaganza there and tickets are selling fast.
HRVP is the name of the St Mary’s Parish Musical Society and it originated in Houghton Regis.
All the members are from Dunstable or Houghton Regis and they’ve been going for about 15 years.
Parish priest Kieran McGovern, of St Mary’s Catholic Church in West Street, Dunstable, is musical director and the director is Gaynor Meads from Dunstable.
Gaynor will for the first time be taking to the stage herself and is performing a duet with Alison Barker, also from Dunstable, of We’re A Couple Of Swells.
There will be dancers, solo singers and chorus numbers.
The youngest performer is nine years old.
Member of the show, Mike Pomfrett, said “It’s going to be a great night and we just want to bring the community together.”
