Cambridge midfielder poised to join on loan
LUTON Town are hoping to tie up the loan signing of experienced midfielder Paul Carden from Cambridge United, writes Mike Simmonds.
The 31-year-old, who has been virtually ever-present for U’s this season, is also assistant manager at the Abbey Stadium, but was present as Hatters went down 1-0 to Watford reserves on Monday night.
Town number two Gary Brabin is a huge admirer of Carden, after working closely with the Liverpool-born midfielder during his time in charge of Cambridge.
Speaking to the News/Gazette, Brabin said: “We have been talking (to Paul) and although I don’t want to say too much yet, it’s something we hope to tie up soon with him.”
