SHOW off your footie skills for a good cause in a five-a-side tournament at Dunstable Leisure Centre.
The tournament takes place on Saturday, May 12, and is in aid of Childreach International, which works with local communities in the developing world improve children’s healthcare, education, and rights and protection.
The event has been organised by Houghton Regis student Maria Gallaher, who is climbing Mount Kilimanjaro for the charity in July, and needs to raise £2,500.
The tournament runs from 12pm to 3pm, and entry costs £40 a team, with a maximum of eight players.
“I’m hoping to get 20 to 25 teams signed up,” said Maria, 27, of Enfield Close. “I’ve already raised about £1,000 through lots of different things like club events back in Coventry, where I’m at university, cake sales and bag packing.”
