OLYMPIC gold medal-winning sailor Pippa Wilson MBE and town mayor Claire Meakins-Jell joined local residents to launch Dunstable in Bloom 2012 on Saturday (April 14).
The group sowed red, white and blue wild flowers seeds at the new open space at Frenchs Avenue, with Pippa and the mayor awarding children with signed certificates of achievement.
Councillor Meakins-Jell said: “Our thanks go to Pippa Wilson MBE for giving up her time to come and support our event and encourage our young people to work hard and achieve the highest standards possible.
“I am looking forward to enjoying the wild flower displays in the summer.”
