THREE Dunstable lower schools have received approval from Central Beds Council for a consultation with a view to extend the age range of their pupil intake after solid support was shown for the plans.
Hawthorn Park, Tithe Farm and Thornhill Lower Schools wish to give year 4 children the choice to stay in their schools for another two years or move to a middle school.
Thomas Whitehead School will also go to consultation after a decision by their governing body.
Councillor Mark Versallion will in April make the final decision on whether this will happen for any of the schools.
