TWO violents attacks in the same area of Dunstable within a week left victims with serious injuries.

On Saturday February 18, a 25-year-old man was knocked unconscious in the alleyway alongside Chameleon Bar in High Street North at about 4am by an object before being kicked repeatedly by four men.

The men fled the scene of the seemingly unprovoked attack when a friend of the victim realised what was happening and went to help him.

Amazingly, police said the victim went home before realising he had a cut to his head that required 10 stitches.

Det Con Mirian Khajavelidze said: “It is not known why this man was assaulted and I would like to urge anyone who saw the assault or anyone who has information relating to this incident to come forward.”

Another incident in the early hours of Friday morning (February 24) left a 19-year-old man with serious head injuries.

The victim was on a night out with friends in Chameleon Bar when he was tapped on the shoulder before being struck in the face with a bottle.

The attacker – described as a white man in his early 20s and of medium/muscular build – then kicked the victim on the floor before leaving the nightclub.

The man was taken to Luton and Dunstable Hospital were he was given six stitches.

Det Con Lucy Lewey said: “This was a vicious attack which could have resulted in far more serious injuries.

“I’d like to hear from anyone who was in Bar Chameleon at the time of the assault or anyone else who may have information – however small or insignificant they think it is – that could help us.”

If you have any information about either attacks contact police on the non-emergency number 101 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
