LUTON youngster Shanice Marshall-Sefia made the semi-finals at the Riverside Northwood Open U12 and U14 tournaments last week.
In the U12 competition, the 12-year had a bye in the first round, before beating Kureha Yamaguchi and second seed Megan Forster, before losing to fourth seed Gemma Southwick in a final set tie-break.
She performed even better in the older age category, as after another first round walkover, Shanice defeated Amber Linford, fourth seed Hannah Ferrett and Sara Howard before losing to top seed and eventual winner Holly Hutchinson.
Marshall-Sefia also copmbined with Aleksandra Topalovic in the U14 Girls doubles Group B event, winning two and losing one match to finish second in the table. She is next in action in the qualifying draw for a Winter National Tournament in Nottingham on March 3.
