FORMER Stanbridge boy Lawrence Bray gets one of the most important gigs of his career so far when he heads to The Birmingham Ballroom on Thursday with his band ScenicLife to play the Official Noel Gallagher After Party – a night that runs alongside Gallagher’s High Flying Birds gig in the city.

A familiar face, growing up in Stanbridge, Lawrence – frontman/lead guitarist and song-writer -together with his band mates Daniel Dodson on drums and ‘Jimi’ Drew Vera on bass, have been together since 2011.

They will get support on the night from Noel’s brother, Paul, and another big named band ‘The Rifles’, who will both be playing live DJ sets. ScenicLife will perform live to a crowd of more than 600 VIPs, marking significant progress in the band’s path to make a name for themselves in the world of Britpop/Rock ‘n Roll.

They are currently making a video in Brighton as well as spending days and nights in a London recording studio working on some new tracks. Headlining Dublin Castle, 229 Club, Hoxton Underbelly, The Goodship and various other headline rock band venues around London, the band are receiving rave reviews to their music and the fan base increases daily.

“ScenicLife plays geezer music – that’s what we’re all about – bringing great anthemic tracks people can sing, dance and remember. When we found out we were chosen to play the Noel Gallagher gig, we were all over it …. He’s one of our living gods,” said Lawrence.
