THANK you – that’s the message from Houghton Regis Leisure Centre Action Group to all who have backed their efforts to keep the centre open.
That follows news that a new contractor is being appointed by Central Beds Council to run the centre in 2012/13.
Campaigners would like to thank supporters, the unitary council and Houghton Regis Town Council.
Now the group is keen to find some way to re-open the centre’s pool, which closed last autumn.
The campaigners said: “The saving of the centre is tremendous news for all its dedicated users and for the clubs that are based there.”
